Fishing Lake Plimsoll

Hi all,

Decided to head to Lake Plimsoll (near Tullah) with my son Trevor and a mate on Friday.

We were keen to try out some of the Yep range of plastics on the local Brook trout.

It wasn’t long after we arrived when Trevor let out a yell that he was on, a nice fat "hen" fish of around 3 pounds soon came to the net, caught on a Red Rascal.

From then on the day deteriated "weatherwise" but the fishing just got better and better!!

We finished with nine between us with the Red Rascals and the Yep 5 1/2 inch series in "Purple Ghost” and “Translucent Moss” being absolute killers on the day.

When it came time to clean our catch, it wasn’t hard to realise why, (see attached pictures below), the Galaxia in this water are huge and as you can see we managed match them up perfectly.

A tip if fishing here, look for, and fish around the outflows that run into Plimsoll, Brookies love to sit near them waiting for an easy feed!!

Another great place to try is the dam wall area.

Brook trout are certainly a beautiful fish and well worth the effort.
